"The Copihue is the national flower of Chile.
The legend tell us, that long time ago, there was a lovely Mapuche indian princess called Hues, she fell in love with a Pehuenche indian prince named Copih.
Just like Romeo and Juliet, their tribes were at odds, and their love ended in the bottom of a lake...where a year later a mysterious vine emerged with two flowers never seen by either tribe, one flower was white and the other one red...
the tribes understood this as a sign of love, and named the flower Copihue, the union of both names. "
